Priority Development Areas

The Waikato sub-region has a number of areas where housing and community outcomes are being prioritised. These are delivered by local Councils, or by private developers – or are a joint effort from both.

As well as these areas, the Future Proof partnership has identified a number of Priority Development Areas. These are areas that include multiple agencies (i.e. not just one Council) and require the Future Proof partnership to work together to unlock and drive progress.

The Future Proof Priority Development areas are:

• • Huntly/Raahui-Pookeka and environs
  • Hamilton Northwest - Horotiu
  • Hamilton Central City
  • Fairfield-Enderley
  • Ruakura
  • North Waipā/South Hamilton

The Priority Development Areas are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect the priorities of the sub region and as new barriers emerge or when progress is made.
